Being able to swim is essential!
VIP Tour Canyoning trips in the Jura are suitable for beginners and experienced participants aged 6 and over. This private canyoning trip in Franche-Comté is available as a half-day or full-day excursion.
The canyons are located in the immediate vicinity of Les Rousses resort, Lake Vouglans and Clairvaux-les-Lacs. The journey from Geneva, Lausanne, the Pays de Gex, Lyon or Dijon takes between 1½ and 2 hours by car.

I’m very fit, but I’ve never tried canyoning before – can I take part?
Yes, the VIP Tour Canyoning trips are also suitable for beginners. No prior experience is necessary. The guide will explain everything you need to know.
How long should I allow for this?
Allow 3 hours for half-day trips and 5 to 6 hours for full-day trips.
Where are the canyons located?
We offer a range of canyoning routes, suitable for all levels, in the Jura. Many are located in Saint-Claude, but some routes can also be found in the north of the department and even in the Bugey region.
Is it compulsory to know how to swim?
Yes! Swimming sessions are compulsory. If you can’t swim, we can suggest other activities.
Are the jumps and slides compulsory?
No! Your guide will never force you to do anything. Alternatives will be suggested depending on each participant’s ability.
I wear glasses – can I take part?
Of course! Make sure you bring a cord. Your guide will explain how to keep them from getting lost or damaged. Ideally, bring an old pair. Better still, wear contact lenses if you can.
What if the weather is bad?
The guide may change the itinerary. If the activity cannot go ahead, we will reschedule it for another day. If this is not possible, we will cancel it. In that case, you will receive a full refund.
