What to expect on your advanced rock climbing course
Improve your rock climbing skills in the Jura during a four-hour private session, led by a qualified climbing instructor.
This outing is aimed at independent climbers who are proficient in belaying and are already climbing at a minimum grade of 6b. Work on your technique and route-reading skills on cliffs suited to your level.
After discussing your climbing habits and goals, the session will focus on specific areas: optimising footwork, pacing, route reading and memorisation, and sequence strategy.
The aim of this half-day session is to complete a “project” route, chosen to suit your ability and areas for improvement.
Private coaching sessions allow for a detailed analysis of your technique and personalised coaching to help you take your skills to the next level.

The advanced climbing crags in Saint Claude
Orno
Located in Saint-Claude, the Orno crag offers short, challenging and technical routes with both slight and very steep overhangs. It is in the shade in the morning and evening.
The Marais Slabs
Located above Saint Claude, the Dalles du Marais site offers long, vertical routes. It is in the shade in the afternoon.
Saint Romain
Located near Moirans-en-Montagne, the Saint Romain site offers fairly short routes that are vertical and slightly overhanging. It is in the shade in the afternoon.
These three climbing crags are ideal for routes graded between 6b and 8b.
Safety, supervision and equipment
The advanced climbing sessions in Saint-Claude, in the Jura, are designed for experienced climbers who can handle routes of at least 6b. These rock-climbing sessions in Franche-Comté take the form of half-day private lessons, with a guide all to yourself.
The cliffs are located in Saint-Claude and the surrounding area, right next to the Les Rousses resort and Clairvaux-les-Lacs. The journey from Geneva takes about an hour by car.

How long should I allow for this?

I don’t have room in my suitcase to pack my climbing gear.
No problem, we’ll lend you all the equipment. Do try to bring your own climbing shoes, though. If that’s not possible, we’ll lend you some – we have all sizes available.
What if the weather is bad?
The guide may change the itinerary. If the activity cannot go ahead, we will reschedule it for another day. If this is not possible, we will cancel it. In that case, you will receive a full refund.
