What to expect on your introductory climbing session
Every Wednesday in July and August, come and try your hand at rock climbing during a 90-minute introductory session at La Goulette crag in Mijoux.
Set in the forest, La Goulette crag is popular for the quality of its rock and its pleasant surroundings. As it is positioned so as to remain in the shade in the afternoon, it offers comfortable climbing conditions, even in the height of summer.
This climbing trip in the Jura is ideal for a first experience in the great outdoors. Suitable for both children and adults, it offers a safe environment in which to learn the basics: equipment, belaying and your first climbs.

I’m very sporty – will I get bored?
If you’re fit, it’s best to opt for a longer climbing session. An hour and a half is fine with children.
How long should I allow for this?

Where is the Goulette cliff?
The Goulette cliff is located in Mijoux, in the Jura, 30 minutes from the Les Rousses ski resort and Saint-Claude. It’s about an hour’s drive from Geneva or the Pays de Gex.
I wear glasses – can I take part?
Of course! Make sure you bring a cord. Your guide will explain how to keep them from getting lost or damaged. Ideally, bring an old pair. Better still, wear contact lenses if you can.
What if the weather is bad?
The guide may change the itinerary. If the activity cannot go ahead, we will reschedule it for another day. If this is not possible, we will cancel it. In that case, you will receive a full refund.
