Learning and making progress

To take things a step further, rock-climbing outings offer a more immersive experience. Lasting three hours, this private lesson gives you plenty of time to learn, improve and build your confidence.

During the session, you’ll learn the essential basics, such as tying a figure-of-eight knot, belaying and some basic climbing techniques. We’ll take things step by step, taking your ability and comfort level into account.

The aim is not to achieve a particular level of performance, but to enjoy climbing and to improve. Everyone progresses at their own pace, without any pressure, whilst being supported by an experienced instructor to ensure safety and make the most of the experience.

Multi-pitch climbing: what are the options?

The Jura has few multi-pitch routes suitable for beginners. For this type of climbing, it is often better to head to nearby areas offering more favourable conditions.

The Salève and the cliffs around Lake Annecy are ideal spots for trying your hand at multi-pitch climbing. Etienne invites you to explore the cliffs of Haute-Savoie. It takes 1 to 2 hours’ drive from the Jura to get there.

Etienne Peloille

Climbing instructor and canyoning guide

Passionate about mountain activities since I was a child, it all began with climbing at the age of 7. I moved to the Jura out of love, the environment immediately won me over. So I settled here and set up Rock’n Jump Adventure to share my experience in what I do best: climbing, teaching and handling ropes.
